Due consideration given
to the environment

In order to guide development proposals an Environmental Risk Assessment (ERA) and a Landscape Sensitivity Atlas (LSA) was conducted for the project in 2005/6. This is unlike many other projects that enter straight into the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) phase. There are elements present of three different biomes, namely the Subtropical Thicket, Nama Karoo and Succulent Karoo. Rivers and wetlands provide additional habitat.
